Confluence

‘Confluence’ explores themes of conflict and resolution, using distorted audio and two video channels to present the coming together of two seemingly disparate things. Gestural motifs search for something beyond themselves eventually finding/discovering something lies beyond the self. By reaching beyond itself, it slowly overcomes initial frictions, the worlds collide and layer, the pitch of the audio mellows. The two become harmoniously connected.

Two Channel Video, Aaron Smyth and Aimee Gallagher, 2017.
