'(celtair díclithe) memories of shared listening'
Polychromos Pencil on Fabriano Artistico 640gsm, 80x100cm.

This piece explores identity by investigating representations of ‘the hunt’ in the Irish Epic cannon, its depiction on high crosses and as a contemporary recreational pursuit. The piece draws together donor imagery, recontextualising and distorting these depictions to create tension and interplay between what is represented and what is omitted, highlighting the importance of language and representation in a post-colonial environment and exploring national Identity in historical and socio-cultural contexts.

This work featured in ‘Páipéar’ a Hang Tough Comtemporary group show of new work at Central Plaza Dublin.
This large-scale exhibition of 115 artists presents a dynamic selection of prestigious Irish and Irish based artists who have been invited to submit an original work on paper.

This work was made possible through the support of Fingal Arts Office and their Artist Support Scheme.
